WELCOME
Hey there! I'm a grad student at UIUC,
I'm currently pursuing my MS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering & Management at Urbana-Champaign.
I'm currently pursuing my MS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering & Management at Urbana-Champaign.
I graduated from India's first private College of Engineering (BMSCE), with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Apart from excelling academically, I have gained industry-level experience in the Construction sector through summer internships and academic projects.
After graduating, I joined the Master's program at UIUC in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Construction Engineering & Management.
My favorite sports are Chess and Soccer and I love dogs. Woof!
I'm skilled in using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Software, Navisworks, Procore, Primavera, Revit, Solibri, and Power BI.
Additionally, I possess strong soft skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, adaptability, and leadership experience. These skills were honed through my experience by working on various projects and collaborating with diverse teams, allowing me to adapt to changing situations and deliver successful outcomes.
My goal is to be a part of a global network of experts, including planners, designers, engineers, scientists, consultants, and construction managers who are leading the change toward a more sustainable and equitable future.
To achieve this, I am actively seeking Internships and Full-time job opportunities in the Construction industry. Through these opportunities, I hope to gain in-depth experience by honing my expertise and skills aligning with my values and goals. With a passion for sustainability and innovation, I am confident that I can make a positive impact and be a valuable addition to any team.
As a project trainee, I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of Bangalore International Airport Terminal - 2, which encompassed a Multi-Modal Transportation Hub and had a budget of $400 Million to cover an area of 2.7 Million-square-foot.
To ensure a successful outcome, I engaged with various departments such as EHS, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Planning, Execution, and Estimation, allowing me to gain a comprehensive understanding of their roles in construction management. Additionally, I established productive relationships with project management officials, which proved crucial in facilitating smooth operations.
I also conducted inspections of ongoing construction practices alongside project engineers and immersed myself in the construction activities taking place on-site. This allowed me to remain up-to-date with the project's progress, identify areas of improvement, and take necessary measures to address any challenges that arose.
Moreover, I collaborated with the planning and estimator's head to schedule the project work and undertook the responsibility of estimating the bill of quantities for a specific area at the site. This task required me to be meticulous, organized, and efficient, and I was able to deliver accurate estimates within the stipulated time frame.
Simulated a real-world comprehensive construction planning for a real-life facility, starting from Project scoping,
Break Down Structure (WBS), Quantity take-offs (QTO) & Project Schedule, Analysis of Cash Flow & Resources, 4D
Model, Control System & Procurement Plan, and Digital Applications.
The outcome was to gain industry-level hands-on experience in construction planning and apply the techniques learned as part of the coursework Construction Planning.
I developed a detailed project plan that included a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Work Division plan, Project schedule, Estimated quantity take-offs (QTO), and a cost estimate. Through Rent-Lease-Buy and Cash Flow analyses, I optimized the plan to strike a balance between quality, time, and cost tradeoffs.
The result was a successful bid that outbid other teams while ensuring the project was completed on time, within budget, and to a high level of quality. This experience helped me to develop essential project management skills and set the foundation for future successes in my career.
I played a key role in developing a comprehensive plan for an existing LEED Platinum-certified campus building that included mobilization, site work & excavation, foundations, superstructure, exterior cladding, framing, interior finishes, and MEP.
By leveraging my knowledge of construction techniques and materials, I helped to create a plan that exceeded the project owner's expectations in terms of cost, quality, and timeliness. This experience provided me with a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in construction project management and reinforced the importance of attention to detail and effective communication in achieving project success.
I recognized the significance of recycling and developed a sustainable concrete mixture using Ordinary Portland cement, Porcelain filler, and C&D waste as coarse and fine aggregates. To ensure the quality of the mixture, I analyzed its compressive and flexural strength.
Moreover, I reduced the cost estimation by an average of 30% for concrete work in construction projects by utilizing existing C&D and industrial waste. This approach allowed us to reduce waste while also cutting down on costs, making the projects more environmentally and economically sustainable.
I utilized surveying, hydrology, and highway engineering principles to create a town layout with residential, commercial, and recreational areas, and roads. Using the total station surveyor's equipment, I accurately plotted the township's boundary and ground points, accounting for environmental and safety concerns. The layout included ample green spaces and recreational areas, enhancing the town's overall livability.
